Nathaniel Schaffer, MD, PhD is an orthopedic surgeon and Chief of Orthopedic Trauma at Denver Health. He specializes in orthopaedic surgery with a clinical focus on orthopedic trauma (fractures, complex pelvic and acetabular injuries) and provides care at Denver Health Main Campus. Dr. Schaffer completed undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (MD/PhD), completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan, and completed an Orthopaedic Trauma fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is active in clinical care, teaching, and trauma research at Denver Health.
