Originally from Denver, Colorado Dr. Cooperman attended undergraduate college at Colgate University in upstate New York, where he played Division I Lacrosse for the Raiders. He then moved to Chicago where he attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and was selected for a scholarship and teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT).Dr. Cooperman moved back to Denver in 2015 and joined SCL Health for the first time when he matched at St. Joseph Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency. After residency, Dr. Cooperman moved back to Chicago to complete a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. He then returned to Denver to partner with Dr. Jacobson and Dr. DaRosa at SCLH Medical Group-Denver Sports Medicine.Dr. Cooperman specializes in running medicine, OMT, mountain sports injuries, a holistic approach to sports injuries, and the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions of all joints including sprains, strains, tendonitis, arthritis and cartilage injuries, bursitis, back and neck pain, sports related concussion, and non-surgical fractures. Dr. Cooperman works alongside Dr. DaRosa as Team Physician for the Colorado Raptors and Merlins, the professional rugby teams here in Colorado, and volunteers with the Denver Public School's sports medicine department.While not at work, Dr. Cooperman enjoys trail running, skiing (resort and backcountry), mountain biking, hiking, traveling, movies, spending time with his wife, family, friends and his dog Jack.
