  • Beth Spencer

    DVM

    Dr. Beth Spencer has practiced small animal medicine in Denver since 2001. From 2005 to 2013 Dr. Spencer was VCA Firehouse's Medical Director. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and her BS from Yale University. In 2010, she was honored with the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association "Rising Star" award. She also works with the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society as the chair of the Community Service Committee. In her free time she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and playing piano. Dr. Spencer lives with her husband, their children and their amusing, yet sweet dog, Carson.

  • Randy McCarty

    DVM

    Dr. Randy McCarty, a Colorado native, graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Zoology from the University of Northern Colorado and received his DVM from Colorado State University. Dr. McCarty has practiced veterinary medicine in Walnut, CA, co-owned Sheep Draw Veterinary Hospital in Greeley, CO, and then began practicing in Denver. He is actively involved in the CVMA and the DAVMS. Dr. McCarty has special interests in internal medicine, dermatology, exotic animal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. McCarty helped create the Michael J. Hart Animal Care Memorial Fund, which provides financial support to care for pets of people living with AIDS and who are disabled. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and their large menagerie of pets.

  • Cassie Todd

    DVM

    Dr. Cassie Todd grew up in Denver just blocks away from VCA Firehouse Animal Hospital. Dr. Todd has practiced veterinary medicine in Colorado since 2002, most recently as an associate veterinarian near Golden. Dr. Todd received her BA from Johns Hopkins University and her DVM from Colorado State University. Prior to practicing as a full time veterinarian, Dr. Todd completed an internship program with Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and Denver Veterinary Specialists, concentrating on oncology and emergency medicine. Dr. Todd is a member of the DAVMS, CVMA, and AVMA. Her interests include oncology and animal behavior. Dr. Todd and husband Andrew share their home with two dogs, Maggie and Floyd, and their two daughters.

  • Sean Lawson

    DVM

    Dr. Sean Lawson has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2005. He grew up in Evergreen Colorado, and has lived in Colorado for more than 25 years. Dr. Lawson received his BS in Equine Science, Masters of Anatomy and Neurobiology and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Sean's professional interests include soft tissue surgery, oncology and the human animal bond. Currently, Dr. Lawson is an active member of AVMA, CVMA, and DAVMS. Dr. Lawson enjoys hiking, fly fishing and spending time with his Labrador Retriever Bergen.

  • Bobbi Hafer

    DVM

    Dr. Bobbi Hafer, originally a farm girl from Nebraska, is a Kansas State University graduate. She received her undergraduate Animal Science degree with honors and doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. During her undergraduate and graduate coursework, Dr. Hafer ignited a special interest in the non-traditional pets. Her patients today include dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, small rodents, sugar gliders, snakes, lizards, turtles and more. Upon graduation, she completed a one year rotating internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and stayed on as a staff veterinarian. In September of 2013 Dr. Hafer decided to add management to her list of talents and became the Medical Director at VCA Firehouse. Bobbi and her husband, Justin, have two children. She also has two mischievous Jack Russell Terriers, Dixie and Wrigley, a Rat Terrier named Kai and two cockatiels, Jude and Jade. Dr. Hafer enjoys spending time with her family and friends; playing volleyball and enjoying the outdoors.

  • Leslie Longo

    VMD

    Dr. Leslie Longo has been practicing in Colorado since 2007. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania in 2007, she completed a rotating internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital focusing on Emergency, Surgery and Internal Medicine. She followed her love for emergency medicine and practiced for the next five years as an ER doctor at the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado. She joined the VCA Firehouse team in October 2013. Dr. Longo's interests are emergency medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology and the human-animal bond. She is an active member of AVMA, CVMA, VECCS and DAVMS. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, camping, hiking and snowboarding with her husband and beloved pooch, Telluride. She also has two cats, Nelson and Oliver.
