Lovie D. Bey, MD

Description

Dr. Bey is a board certified Medical Oncologist originally fom Kansas City. She earned her bachelor's degree in physics with a minor in math from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. She then received her medical degree from the University of Kansas, followed by residencies for Internal Medicine and Hematology and Oncology at Tulane University Hospital and Clinics. Prior to moving to Colorado, she was the President of the New Mexico Oncology Society. Ever since she was a little girl, Dr. Bey always wanted to be a Doctor. At three years old, she received her first medical kit from her mother and would play “doctor” on her dogs. “Patients come first. They deserve to be fully educated about diagnosis, treatment and possible outcomes from the beginning of their care. Patients should always be treated with compassion and they should feel like they are a full partner in their care decisions.” Dr. Bey’s areas of clinical interest include breast cancer and clinical trials.  Dr. Bey is an investigator involved in clinical research trials in the areas of medical oncology and hematology.  When she is not at work, Dr. Bey enjoys knitting, oil painting, gardening, fishing and tending to her fresh and salt water aquariums.
